  • Advisory services on scenic design for the Architecture Prize

    September 2013: Tom Duncan supervised students from the MA course in Stage Design – Scenic Space (Technical University Berlin) who designed the interior for the award ceremony of Architecture Prize at the Kühlhaus, Berlin. Johannes Maas and David Roth did the design work for the event.
  • Opening- Potsdam- A City of History

    September 2013: After the two special exhibitions "Friedrich and Potsdam" und "Siegward Sprotte Retrospective- Seeing the World in Colour" the permanent exhibition of the Potsdam Museum is now opened. The exhibition “Potsdam: A city of history” takes the visitors on a journey through time, to the milestones of the town’s thousand-year history.
  • Completion of the film- What is the mudflat?

    August 2013: The children's film "What is the mudflat?" about the UNESCO world natural heritage is finalised.
  • Opening- Siegward Sprotte Retrospective

    April 2013: The temporary exhibition "Siegward Sprotte Retrospective- Seeing the World in Colour" is opened. On the Occasion of the artist 100. birthday the Potsdam Museum presents an extensive art exhibition. The artist's diaries are showcased for the first time during the new exhibition.
  • Project completion - Hampton Court Palace, London

    March 2013: The exhibition “Secrets of the Royal Bedchamber”, featuring a series of expansive audio and video installations by Duncan McCauley, opened in London. The audio and video installations can be seen in the exhibition in the baroque Palace of Hampton Court, London, until November.
  • Successful tender process – Bundestag Visitors’ and Information Centre

    Following the successful selection process in 2012, Duncan McCauley is providing concept consultation services for the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning for the visitors’ and information centre of the German parliament building. The task includes the development of an overarching concept for the visitors’ centre, using a conceptual approach with particular regard to linking the architectural quality of the building and the exhibition.

  • Successful tender process – "Foundation Flight, Expulsion, Reconciliation" in Berlin

    February 2013: Duncan McCauley wins the invited competition for the design and production of a film presentation of the intentions of the “Foundation Flight, Expulsion, Reconciliation“ and its new premises.
  • Opening – Neues Museum Berlin

    December 2012: The exhibition “In the Light of Amarna – 100 Years of the Nefertiti Discovery” opened in the Neues Museum in Berlin. The Egyptian Museum and Papyrus Collection is marking the 100th anniversary of the bust’s discovery by showing some 1300 excavated objects, including loans from the Metropolitan Museum, the Louvre and the British Museum. The exhibition is on display until April 2013.
  • Opening – National Park House Wadden Sea

    September 2012: Following extensive renovation and extension work, the National Park House in the Wurster Watt is presenting its new face. Located in Dorum-Neufeld, the house reopens with a newly designed exhibition about the Wadden Sea mudflats and their inhabitants.
  • Publication in the book "Management fuer Kreativunternehmen"

    September 2012: We have a chapter in the publication "Management fuer Kreativunternehmen" (Management for Creative Businesses) (ed. Herbert Guener), on the subject of “learning from others”.
  • Opening – Potsdam Museum

    August 2012: On 20th August, the Potsdam Museum celebrates its reopening with the special exhibition “Friedrich and Potsdam”, having returned to the Old Town Hall after more than 100 years. The permanent exhibition on the history of Potsdam will follow in 2013.
  • Opening – Allied Museum

    July 2012: The exhibition “Fair Play. The Allies and Sport” opened just on time for the Olympic Games on 24th July. In conjunction with the Berlin Museum of Sports, the Berlin Allied Museum is showing a special exhibition on the history of Allied sports. The exhibition runs until April 2013.
  • Competition Win – “Secrets of the Royal Bedchamber”

    June 2012: Duncan McCauley has been awarded a contract for the media design and production and the technical planning of the special exhibition “Secrets of the Royal Bedchamber” by the Historic Royal Palaces. The exhibition will be presented in the royal bedrooms at Hampton Court Palace from March 2013.
  • Film Presentation INTERREG IV A project in Schwedt/Oder

    May 2012: The twelve-minute film “Culture and Nature on the River Oder” is presented after Duncan McCauley had been awarded the contract by the city of Schwedt/Oder. The documentary for the INTERREG IV A project – about the newly built “Huguenot Park” in Schwedt and the revitalization of the nature park “Dolina Miłości” (Valley of Love) in Zaton Dolna – reports on cross-border centres of culture and leisure.
  • Workshop in Egypt

    May 2012: Tom Duncan and Noel McCauley go to Egypt. In preparation for the exhibition “In the Light of Amarna”, they explore the site where Nefertiti was found in Amarna along with Prof. Dr. Seyfried (left), Director of the Egyptian Museum and Papyrus Collection, and the archaeologist Barry Kemp (2nd left).
  • Opening – Luetzen Castle

    March 2012: On 24th March, the exhibition “Die blut'ge Affair' bei Luetzen. Wallensteins Wende“ (The Bloody Affair at Luetzen, Wallensteins change of heart) designed by our studio opened in Luetzen Castle. It focuses on the life and death of Albrecht von Wallenstein and features a section dedicated to battlefield archaeology including exhibits from the Luetzen battlefield from 1632. The exhibition is open until 29th July, 2012.
  • Publication in “Museum Making”

    March 2012: Our essay titled “A narrative journey: creating storytelling environments with architecture and digital media“ was published in “Museum Making. Narratives, Architectures, Exhibitions”, edited by Suzanne MacLeod, Laura Hourston Hanks and Jonathan Hale, published by Routledge.
  • Competition Win – “Amarna 2012 – 100 years of Nefertiti“

    February 2012: We won the competition for the exhibition “Amarna 2012 – 100 years of Nefertiti“ in the Neues Museum on the Museum Island, Berlin. The exhibition places the bust of Nefertiti in the context of the time of Amarna and features archaeological discoveries from the German Orient Society from 1912. It opens in December, 2012.
  • Publication in "Scenography in Exhibitions and Museums V"

    February 2012: Our essay entitled “Staging Emotional Environments“ was published in the 5th issue of the "Scenography in Exhibitions and Museums" series by Gerhard Kilger, DASA, published by Klartext.
  • Competition Win – Allied Museum, Berlin

    November 2011: Duncan McCauley wins the invited competition for the temporary exhibition "Fair play. The history of allied sport in Berlin“. The exhibition opening is planned for Summer 2012.
