  • Opening – Bild Schrift Codes, Deutsches Museum, München

    July 2022: Duncan McCauley planned and realized the redesign of the exhibition "Bild Schrift Codes" at the Deutsches Museum in Munich. The design concept works with the theme of the 'letterpress typesetting box' and is reflected as a three-dimensional typesetting box in the room architecture.
  • Competition win – Permanent exhibition "Innovatia" Lüdenscheid

    April 2022: What constitutes innovation and why is the Sauerland region at the forefront of technological innovation in Germany? After the successful procedure at the beginning of the year, we are now looking forward to the upcoming exploration of this interesting question.

  • Construction Commences. UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Völklingen Ironworks, Saarland.

    January 2022, the building site begins! After the granting of the building permit and receiving confirmation from UNESCO Paris, the construction work for the conversion of the iconic water tank to create the new central museum entrance begins.

     

  • Moving office! Adalbertstrasse 6a becomes Adalbertstrasse 5.

    More space for ideas! With a move within our building at Kottbusser Tor we have enlarged our studio and at the same time adapted it to the new demands of current work and design practices. Come and visit us!

  • New project – Liebermann Hall, Academy of Arts. Berlin

    October 2021: Working with Polyform Berlin, we are pleased to announce the start of the second phase of our project, launched in 2018. Presenting the story of the Akademie der Künste, in its historical context at Pariser Platz

  • Opening – „Catastrophe. What comes after the end?” DFF Deutsches Filminstitut Filmmuseum, Frankfurt am Main.

    14 July 2021 – Save the date! We are delighted to announce the opening of another project with the Film Museum. The exhibition was developed in cooperation with the Senkenberg Natural History Museum and will run until May 22, 2022.

  • German Design Award 2021 – Burg Vischering

    July 2021: The transformation of Vischering Castle with its the new permanent exhibition has been awarded the German Design Award 2021.

    The exhibition „Archaeological Promenade“, in the James Simon Gallery on Berlin's Museum Island has been awarded the German Design Award 2021.

  • Opening – “Twilight of the Gods II – The last Monarchs” Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte, Regensburg

    On 23rd June 2021, we will celebrate the opening of the Bavarian State Exhibition which shows the lives of the last monarchs in the period preceding the revolution of 1918.

  • Opening – „Schmidt! Living Democracy“, Helmut Schmidt Stiftung, Hamburg

    Beginning in December 2020, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the life and times of Helmut Schmidt and demonstrate their own personal viewpoint by taking part in voting on Schmidt's central positions on themes that are still highly topical today.

  • Competition Win – State Exhibition Rheinland Pfalz, Rheinisches Landesmuseum Trier

    Oktober 2020. Come to Trier in Juni 2022 to experience the answer to the question, what caused the Fall of the Roman Empire! Until then, we are looking forward to our first collaboration with the Rheinisches Landesmuseum.

  • Competition Success – National Museum of Qatar

    August 2020: After a successful selection process, we are looking forward to the upcoming collaboration with the National Museum of Qatar for a special project to provide access for an international audience to the country's unique cultural heritage in Doha.

  • Red Dot Award 2020 – Archaeological Promenade in the James Simon Gallery

    The exhibition of the Archaeological Promenade designed by Duncan McCauley in the James Simon Gallery on Berlin's Museum Island has been awarded the Red Dot Award 2020.

  • Special Exhibition German Film Museum Frankfurt

    July 2020: Duncan McCauley is looking forward to designing the special exhibition "Catastrophe: What Comes After the End" at the German Film Museum in Frankfurt. 

  • Project Completion Strategy Paper for the Historical Museum Basel

    June 2020: Duncan McCauley has developed a new concept for the Historical Museum Basel up to the year 2030. In close collaboration with the museum, the project was finalised in the form of a strategy paper.

  • Competition Success Bavarian State Exhibition 2021

    December 2019: Duncan McCauley has won the competition for the Bavarian State Exhibition 2021 on Herrenchiemsee with the title "Götterdämmerung II – The End of the Monarchy in Bavaria". 

    Running time: May 7 – October 31 2021

  • Competition Win – Monestary Museum in the Benedictine Abbey Ottobeuren

    September 2019: Duncan McCauley has won the competition for the new permanent exhibition in the Monestary Museum in the Benedictine Abbey Ottobeuren in Bavaria, South Germany.
    We are looking forward to exploring the history of the Benedictines and creating a fantastic visitor-experience!
  • Archaeological Promenade – Exhibition Opening in the James-Simon-Gallery

    July 2019: We are happy to announce the opening of our new permanent exhibition in the James-Simon-Gallery!
    The first section of the Archaeological Promenade forms the beginning of a visit to the Museum Island Berlin. The presentation depicts the development of the museums and their collections.
  • Site Visit – Akhenaton Museum in Minya, Egypt

    July 2019: Site visit to the extraordinary Akhenaton Museum in Minya, Upper Egypt. Duncan McCauley is helping the State Museums of Berlin establish a basis for a German-Egyptian Joint Venture to complete the Museum
  • German Design Award 2019 – Diana: Her Fashion Story
